The Oregon Pathologists Association devotes its activities to scientific, educational, and charitable activities, primarily through professional educational programs and involvement in issues dealing with the practice of pathology.
The Oregon Pathologists Association was originally founded in 1948 by a group of pathologists who felt they could not leave their practices long enough to attend national meetings, so they began developing their own high quality educational programs with national and regional experts in pathology. Over the years this group has grown to include 200 plus pathologists, pathology residents and other medical specialty groups interested in pathology. The OPA continues to feel that medical education and continuing medical education is vital to the practice of pathology.
